3. Trichy Fort Station. Early Morning 5 o clock. Waiting for Chennai Mangalore Express. Staring at a serious "Fat Health Concious Walker" with a mobile playing devotional songs in his pocket.
4. Karur Railway Station. 3 Idly and cup of Upma + 1 Vada + 100 ml Sambar + 10 gm Cocunut Chatni for 20 rupees. Eating them in the train with a 5 rupees coffee in a paper cup.
5. Coimbatore Big Bazaar Street. At Noon. Staring at a woman buying so many Nighties in a wholesale shop and asking for discount. Thinking about her petty business and the motto of the business.
6. Woriur Vekkali Amman Temple. Noon time. Person with one goat and a calf to present them for the temple. Clerk in the temple office agreeing to accept the goat but not the calf. Thinking about the prayers of the person with the animals and the possibility of getting a calf at a cheaper price.
7. Coimbatore Railway Station. After noon 3.35 PM. Long Queue for Current Train Ticket. Only two Counters. 50 persons in each line. Less than 20 minutes to train departure. Persuading a person in front of the queue to get an additional ticket. The person responding that he already buying 2 tickets. Thinking about the logic of what difference it will make if he buy 2 or 3 tickets.
8. Trichy Kalaiarangam Cinema Hall. 7 PM. Kuruvi movie. opening Day. Entering the Hall with friend who paid for tickets and get them by local influence. Thinking whether the first song got over or not. Vijay on a race track and with lots of punch dialogues. Next 2 and Half hours of violence and noise. Leaving the cinema Hall. Asking the friend about the price of the ticket. 150 rupees. Worrying about the ROI.
9. Trichy Cauvery Bridge. Night 8 PM. Staring at Rockfort temple with lights. Staring at people sitting, chatting, selling and staring. Turning other side to check the whereabouts of water beneath the bridge. Thinking of the good times spent at the same venue with friends and others.
10. Chennai Mayaajal. Night 8.30 PM. IPL match in big screens. Friends. Chat. Eat. Again Kuruvi movie. This time the cost for the torture is 120 rupees .
11. Chennai Tambaram Railway gate. Night 8.30 PM. Staring at people crossing the gate with their vehicles when the Gates are closed for trains crossing. Thinking aout their urgency to reach their destination.
12. Chennai Spencer Plaza Saravana Bavan. 2 PM. Staring at the parotta ordered. Thinking about the 6 differences between it and a 2 rupees parotta available in small road side.
13. Chennai Airport. International Terminal. Waiting Hall. Men's Toilet. Clogged urinals and wet floors. Thinking about the reasons for the difference between this airport and someother neat and beautiful airports. Wanted to take a picture for the blog. But dont want to broadcast the bad features of my country to the world.
14. Chennai Koyambedu, Poona malle Road. After Rohini Theatre. On an autorikshaw. Glancing at the preparations for the new 4 or 2 lane road. Thinking about why India is not keen on bringing more FDI and Foreign companies in infrastructure and Roadways.
15. Friends (True Friends). Family. Cousins. Relatives. Well wishers. Sweet Enemies. Acquaintances. Idli. Sambar. Tea. Bike. Cinema. Pubs(where stags are not allowed)Temples (rarely). New Babies in family or friend's family. Marriages and Festivals. Expected Deaths and Unexpected Deaths. Heat. Sweat. Cold. Rains. Monsoons. Mosquitoes. Pollution. Population. Corruption. Power Cuts.
When I recall all the above which I like and dislike about my country, still i would love to sing சொர்க்கமே என்றாலும்...
