What men dont want from their wives?
1. Too much caring (original or animated).
2. A telephone call from the wife at 12 noon and asking "what are you doing?" when this man is busy with formatting his excel report, a call in the after noon to check this man had his lunch or not and call in the evening to enquire the whereabouts of this man.
3. Trying to get an opinion for anything she do. (e.g what color do you like? am planning to get one nail polish.... (oh god... do men really care all this?) "Say what you think about what i did?")
4. Giving up everything for him in the beginning and trying to make him responsible for that the rest of life.
5. Trying things to impress him which is not her cup of tea.
Most of them are my own predictions, some guys may differ...
Y'day i was in this place, Thirukadayur Amirthagadeshwarar and Abiraami Amman temple to attend a Sastiabtha Poorthi (60 year completion of a man) of In-laws of my cousin. I went to this place by booking a ticket (320 rupees) in Yasmeen travels in Koyambedu who has a tie up with Annapoorna travels. As usual this bus started late from Koyambedu omni bus stand. (11.30PM instead of 10.45 PM). Its destination was Kumbakonam via Pondy-Cuddalore-Chidambaram-Seerakazhi-Mayavaram. I've got down at Seerkazhi. Then took the Nagapattinam bus from there to reach this place. That ticket costed 7 rupees. After getting refreshed in the hotel called Manivizha, I went to the temple. It was very easy for me to go and worship the deities quickly. There was no charge or special tickets. The Abirami ambal idol is a beauty with all the dressing and flowers. You couldn't resist the view without reciting
"தனம் தரும் கல்வி தரும் ஒரு நாளும் தளர்வறியா மனம் தரும்
தெய்வ வடிவும் தரும் நெஞ்சில் வஞ்சமில்லா இனம் தரும்
நல்லன எல்லாம் தரும் அன்பர் என்பவர்க்கே
கனம் தரும் பூங்குழலாள் அபிராமி கடைக் கண்களே"(Thanks to memory sections of tamil poems in schools)
I happened to see atleast 15 Sastiabtha Poorthi on the same day. There were different kind of people getting married for the second time with their wives again. There were couple of events that i watched "Parents with their only son and daughter('in law) getting married without any one. One more couples got this event down with a son/daughter in law/ grand son. In one more event there was only one male (seems to be completing 60) without anyone and doing some rituals with the priests.
I thought about how we are becoming more nuclear socities. Some times there is a scarcity of money to do it in a grand way. Sometimes there is a scarcity for people to call for the event.
one more thing that came to my mind was the amazing increased life expectancy rate of indians. This is a big thing. And the patience and life style of the previous generation who are living with the same partner for life with/without any problems. I am not sure whether there will be this many Sastiabtha poorthi's will happen after 25 years.
From this place we went to visit another temple in Thirumeeyachur which is near Peralamn., we took this route Tirunallar-Karaikal-Peralam-Thirumeeyachur. One of the old Siva temple. We can worship Mega nathar a.k.a Muyarchi Nathar with Lalithaambigai in this temple. Not much crowd and still a heritage place.
I wanted to write about this Reliance Netconnect Broadband + wireless. This service is very good. I got this as a pre-paid service as I dont want to commit to a regular payments. The device costs 3500 with 10GB free for the first month and then we can recharge as and when we require. But the for 1 gb it cost 700+ bucks. Kind of costly, but hope we will get them at cheaper price soon. Same time expecting for the broadband coverage in more cities or throughout country.
On the work side, I am getting more lessons from casual chats during our cofee breaks. I've got this message "Surrender Completely if you believe in someone/something". If you believe in the organisation or a task or someone, surrender yourself completely. It was very valuable pick. Sometimes, same kind of lessons are not there in workshops at five star hotels.
The same message was conveyed in the Jamie Foxx starrer film "The Soloist" - "I've learned the dignity of being loyal to something you believe in, of holding on it, above all else. of believing, without question, that it will carry you home"
The Soloist, is a slow movie, but the final conclusion was very good. Other movies that i watched recently
State of Play - A Russel Crowe & Ben Affleck starrer about a murder investigation. A nice plot with latest political controversies. Good to watch.
Five Minutes of Heaven - A Liam Neeson starrer about the Irish conflicts between Protestants and Catholics. But about very individual emotions.
Anyways there is no intended purpose for the title of the post...
