Holi, The end of Winter

Holi, its the festival of colors, joy and craziness... Its my first Holi in north india... The previous day night i saw this big arrangements for a bon fire in the common ground of the apartment... I've asked abt it to a friend.. He told that its the final opporunity to do a bon fire on the end of winter... After that there wont be much cold... so its a tradition to celebrate the end of winter with this bon fire.. ppl call it as छोटे ... (Small Holi) But i found different reasons in wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi

It was last wednesday, being a holiday for holi, i was watching this cricket match between india and NZ... When there was a rain interruption in the match, i thought of going out and watching the celebrations... So i put on my old t-shirt (thinkin that everybody will throw color on me...) but to my surprise no one considered me as a target despite i was watching the celebrations very near to the tent they made for the festival.... I was an odd man in the entire crowd.... very much south indian face and a stranger in the locality.... People were dancing in the hot sunlight for the latest hindi remix numbers... There were ppl from all age groups.. from kids to grandpas... Little disappointed for not able to see the young gals faces in multicolors..

After watching the celebration for 10 minutes, i suddenly remembered the cricket match and wanted to go back home.... And felt very proud about not getting coloured... started walking back towards the apartment blocks... Suddenly out of no where 2 beautiful gals came in front of me... The one who is near to me has packets of colour powders in her hand... She asked me "No Celebrations?" I dont know what to say..... Slowly i opened my mouth and trying to say "no"... வெறும் காத்துதான் வந்துச்சு .... i went near to her and watching her beautiful face.... automatically i bow down little and shown my face to her as she is less taller than me.... it conveyed that all my face is for her... She applied some yellow colour all over my face by making a big circle around my cheeks... i couldn't control smiling.... took little colour from her and marked a bindi on her forehead.. and said Happy Holi..

Is Flat World only for IT people?

Recently when I visited my Aunty in Pune, she was complaining about the youngsters who are working in IT companies. It seems these young kids inflating the prices in the city. Pune is emerging as a new IT hub for many multi nationals and Indian Software giants due to various reasons. The climate is very conducive for international clients. Adequate water supply and electricity favours the industries. Connectivity from Mumbai through an international standard Express Highway can take you to the city in 2 to 2 and half hours. Previously Pune supposed to be an industrial city, now becoming an IT hub due to various drawbacks of Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai. I read some survey about the highly developing cities in India which has the top 2 positions with Gurgaon and Pune. Coming back to the spending habits of IT people, it is certain that people working in other sectors affecting because of this. Real estate businesses are soaring; even tomato and brinjal prices are hiked in these cities. ...
