After some bad experiences with some corporates and their approach to the consumers, i wish to write reviews about them. It will help the consumers to be aware while choosing services.
Bad experience
We wanted to take the airtel d2h, since they provide dvr (digital video recording) option in the latest set top boxes. So we paid for the set top box costing around 4700 and chose a plan with some HD channels. When they came for installation, they said only limited length of cable will be provided as free (dish to inside home.. I guess it's 20 feet is free). Most of the houses, this length will not suffice to reach the hall. If you need to install the dish in 3 floors above, you need more length of cable and shed a good amount of money in this. I paid somewhere around 250 rupees for additional length of cable. Second, Their web site is not allowing me to change the plan to a cheaper one.
Because of the problems with reliance broadband problems, I changed it to airtel, this time they did not tell that the standard modem will not come with the broadband connection. I had a Netgear router previously which can not be directly used with airtel as they used adsl type of connection. They charged me 850rupees for the standard modem. There is a lack of co-ordination between sales and installation teams. Even installation team member suggested that airtel is useless. Since Alcatel is doing all services on behalf of airtel, they are not as effective as before. Once I used the airtel broadband way back in 2008. That time it has an excellent consumer support.
Good experience
For my regular blood tests, I am going to Lister's metropolis labs in chennai. I usually go to Anna nagar division, which is near to valliammal college. Their process and customer service are excellent. When you get into the premises, take a token from the outside by pressing a button and wait in the waiting hall. In the reception, they will call your token number through an electronic announcement machine (like in a bank). Then we need to go to reception and pay the fee by giving the doctor's prescription. Then directly go to the lab. Their might be a few minutes wait before your turn. In 2 to 3 minutes, your name will be called and the blood collecting tubes will be ready with your name on it. They will ask you to verify your name and the tests that are mentioned in the receipt.after confirmation, they just take blood and instruct about when to come back for next sample (in case of blod sample before and after breakfast). Most of the time reports will be ready on the same day. If the test is taken on a Sunday, next day it will be ready. They register your phone number and email in your first visit. When your report is ready for collection, SMS will be sent to your mobile and an email will be sent to your mail id. I guess report will be sent through mail as well. Thei hygienic environment and process orientation are admirable one. Charges also very nominal only.
Hope to write more about my consumer experiences often.
