I've already posted a blog in the name of 3 idiots, So I am taking this title to do a short review of the film . As I was reading the dispute among the 3 idiots crew and Chetan Bhagat, I thought the whole news was made up to boost the movie in the box office. But when I watched this movie today in Birmingham, i really believe that this movie doesn't need any media stunt to boost the viewer ship. One of the brilliant story which is brilliantly changed to match the expectations of a normal movie goer. I dont know how Aamir Khan picks up a success story all the time. Or he converting a normal story to a success story? But, to Chetan Bhagat's credit, Five Point Someone is already a success story in print media. Even by taking 2 to 5 percentage of the story, it assured you the same success. Whats a big deal in giving a credit to Chetan Bhagat when the titles thank Mukesh Ambani in a ADAG bannered movie? After all the theme is his novel which is the core for the entire movie.
Aamir as Ranchoddass alias Fungshu Wangdu, Mathavan as Farhan Quereshi, Sharman Joshi as Raju Rastogi, Boman Irani as Prof.Virus and Kareena as Pia in this movie taking us to some of our college memories. Especially this is the first film that i had the patience to watch Kareena in the big screen. Usually she is scary. But not bad in this movie. Even though first few scenes she didn't fit well, you get to like her at the end. The theme absolutely stresses the importance of studying the subject that which we interested in and not the one which get us the high paying job. I guess this should be a must watch movie for all school children. This theme is very close to a presentation which i am currently preparing for some other purposes.
Aamir is looking younger than Mathavan. Its little hard to believe that Mathavan size of a guy in a college. He looks like uncle. But still manages to score whenever he get a chance in the screen play. Sharman and Boman are completely supporting the storyline with their acting. Music is good, but still missing that Shankar Eshan Loy + Aamir's chemistry. All izz well , the catch line that Aamir using in this movie is little cinematic... but its true that only the mental fear/pressure that keep us away from doing great things. Cinematography is excellent when they show beautiful places of india like Ladak, Shimla etc. Again some south indian cinematographer... I am not sure why there is a plenty of talents in cinematography available only in the south?
While I am writing this review, my friend confirms a news that 3 idiots can be downloaded from You Tube after 7 or 8 weeks.
And if the same team is willing and can work with Chetan Bhagat, they can very well make '3 mistakes of my life' also in the bigger screen.
Ok enough of movie review... When I am chatting in gtalk to a friend who got married recently, our topic turned to the changes in the guy's life after marriage. I hope this chat will help people like me who are very much confused about an arranged marriage.... With his permission, i am posting the chat below after a bit of censoring...
