After celebrating the loss of one year in my lifetime, I am again feeling more energetic and conducting myself better. On an interesting day filled with some software tool training followed by a test and a non alcoholic buffet dinner with people who I can rely on made my birthday special.
Gifts - i got from people through my absolute coercion or raw persuasion (or chiggy-wiggyness?)
1. "Imagining India" by Nandan Nilekani (The book which i decided not to buy on my own money)
2. "Effective Leadership Development" by John Adair (One of my friend is still thinking that i read only books related to Leadership and self improvement)
3. A Cadbury 5 Star (One friend still thinking that I didn't grow)
4. A pen stand made with ice cream sticks (Still people didn't know how good I am in preserving my gifts...)
5. Carrot Halwa ( One sad story with a Happy Ending...)
6. "7 Day Weekend" by Ricardo Semler (This is a gift from me for myself.. After reading Maverick in 2005 i became an admirer to Semler's ideas... after a 2 years long search i found this book now...Still its very hurting to pay so much to buy a book after being a Jack Sparrow for Indian Pirates for a long time)
Here I want to mention this place that i visited today .. Oxford Book Store in Haddows Road, Nungambakkam...
This bookstore has a coffee shop attached to it... You can pick some books from the book store and read it here... even if you are not buying the book (but you end up paying the book cost in the coffee shop.... The sandwich I had was not so good... can I use the term Chiggy-Wiggy.. guess its not fit in here.... Masala chai in a typical tea kadai glass in monkey shaped stand was good when its hot...) I guess the place is Wi-Fied... There were 2 gals doing something in their lap tops for more than 2 hours...I was thinking assignment? Project work? facebook? (Were they Chiggy-Wiggying????)... not sure... Another table ...there was a guy with a gal (hope she works for scope international) ... seems to be on their first date.. That guy was talking about his school time as guitarist in the school troup and his old aspirations of making a band... his UK and Singapore experiences... Gal was talking about her interests in visiting pubs with her friends... (Were they Chiggy-Wiggying????).. (Guys I could not keep cottons on my ears always.. and i am not a eavesdropper.. I swear on my ENT doctor...)
There were other 2 gals talking (Chiggy-Wiggying???) in Hinglish about something which was out of my coverage area... Even with so much distractions i could glance through 2 interesting books to get enough hang of the themes...
1. "Leadership in the Era of Economic Uncertainty" by Ram Charan - Wise advise and most of them are happening in most of the companies...
2. "We are like that only" by Rama Bijapurkar - Must read for Marketing students.. a kind of sequel to "Being India" by Pavan K.Verma
both of them were useful for me in some ways...
On my way back home i was waiting on my bike in a traffic signal in PH Road near Shanti Colony connecting bridge. There were not much traffic and no police men. There came a bus behind me and honking horn to clear the way.... I was looking at that driver and the red signal.... He was laughing at me and advising me to go ahead instead of the red.... Now i understood how much we lost our sensitivity and discipline... Atlast "We are like that Only"... Lets try to improve the values in the next generation kids atleast... (Am I chiggy-Wiggying??)
Recently I am working on a topic called Mobile Payments which is so interesting. People are expecting the financial money transfer will majorly happen through mobile phone messages in the future. Lets wait and see. But if we can make masses to accept this technology, many things gonna be simplified.
Now tell me what is Chiggy-Wiggy????
This song goes like this
I wanna Chiggy-Wiggy with you boy
I wanna Chiggy-Wiggy with you Fella
just chiggy-wiggy with you baby.....(My latest favourite from Blue)
Last month i became tired in searching meaning for "Hasili Fisili" after Aadhavan song....
Now tell me what is Chiggy-Wiggy? Need to ask Kylie Minogue who sung this song along with our man Sonu Nigam who got this magic voice.... its a true ecstacy.... my media player is working on loop with this song from the time i started to write this post....
Anyways this A.R.Rahman album seems to be moving fast out of shelves ,download servers and CD writers..... 3 songs are really rocking... Party mixes.... Chiggy-Wiggy, Blue theme and Yaar Mila Tha Saiiyan... (no trace of Sufi music... Rahman could have conciously avoided to differentiate this from Delhi-6 and Jodhaa Akbar....)
I like these lines....
